Abandoning Myself

May 31, 20261 min read

Hi beautiful heart,

Love is easy

Chasing love can look like many things.

Overexplaining.

Overgiving.

Trying to be easier, quieter, prettier, more understanding, or less needy.

Waiting for someone to recognize your worth.

Accepting breadcrumbs because you are afraid there may be nothing more.

But love that requires you to abandon yourself is not the love your heart is asking for.

When you stop chasing, you are not giving up on love.

You are making space for a different experience of love.

Love that meets you.

Love that chooses you.

Love that allows you to remain connected to yourself.

Today, gently ask:

Where have I been working too hard to earn something that should be freely and lovingly given?

You do not have to judge yourself for the answer.

Chasing was likely a way your heart learned to protect itself from losing connection.

Meet that part of yourself with love.

Then remind her:

I do not have to abandon myself to be loved.

With love and kindness,
